Marques Keith Brownlee is an American YouTube sensation who creates technology-themed videos. He is popularly known by his stage name MKBHD, Marx Keith Brownlee High Definition.
Marques started his career by uploading tech-based videos on his YouTube channel MKBHD in January 2009, when he was still in 8th grade. His early videos were mostly software tutorials recorded via screencasting. According to him, his first 100 videos attracted only 78 subscribers.
It has come a long way since then. In addition to a regular audience that loves his tech reviews, his content has been featured on several tech websites such as Engadget.
As his fan base grew, tech companies began offering their products for review. Soon, he shifted his focus from software to reviewing mobile phones, laptops, headsets, video games, etc.
Brownlee's method of evaluating equipment is unique and innovative. One of the most viral videos in its early days was a review of the LG G Flex in November 2013. The company claims that it conducted multiple scratch tests to check the self-healing capabilities of the device.
His reputation as a credible tech critic earned him the opportunity to interview Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside and American blogger Evan Blass in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
Former Google senior vice president Vic Gundotra called Brownlee "the best tech reviewer on the planet" in 2013.
In July 2014, Marks reviewed the iPhone 6 and ran a scratch test of the 4.7-inch Sapphire display. The video went viral and was featured on sites such as The Verge, Forbes, HuffPost, CNET, and Time Magazine. NBC News also featured the video in one of its news segments. As of 2020, the video has been viewed over 9 million times.
In December 2013, he started a YouTube video series called Talking Tech. In this segment, Marques interviews some of the top tech moguls like Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and Elon Musk.
Apart from people from the world of technology, he also interviewed some famous personalities like Kobe Bryant (American basketball player) and Barack Obama. He also did an interview with American astrophysicist Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson in March 2018.
Brownlee appeared on the American show Hot Ones in June 2018.

As of 2020, BB has uploaded over 1,300 videos to his YouTube channel MKBHD. Its 1,000th video was released in March 2018. American social media tracking website Social Blade ranks it as the most subscribed tech-focused YouTube channel.
As of 2021 he has over 14 million subscribers, with a total of over 2.4 billion views of his videos. His most viewed video is "Retro Tech: Game Boy" with over 24 million views.
